How does Grace Hartzel get ready for Vogue’s annual pre–Met Gala party? With a sultry Brock Collection dress and sparkling Blue Nile jewels, of course! Thanks to a little sartorial help from Vogue Senior Market Editor Kirby Marzec, Hartzel and fellow model Lili Sumner all but turned the sidewalk into their own personal runway on the way to Forlini’s restaurant for the star-studded celebration, in the lead-up to fashion’s biggest night. The theme for the evening was The Great Beauty (and the official hashtag was dubbed #SpaghettiAndMetballs).
For those who haven’t seen The Great Beauty, Paolo Sorrentino’s 2013 cinematic ode to Roman nightlife and high society, just know the look called for loads of lace, hints of lingerie, and lots of Blue Nile diamonds. While the sparkle no doubt helped complete the evening’s fabulous dress code, it’s entirely possible to incorporate the glam style of Hartzel (and Sumner, too) into your own summer party wardrobe; see below.
