Is Gucci Mane going punk? Judging by the ensemble the Atlanta rapper wore at last night s BET Hip Hop Awards, he just might be! Taking style cues from such musical style rebels as Sid Vicious and Joey Ramone, Mane—née Radric Davis—broke with convention and fastened himself into a fierce black harness, layering the kinky accessory across his crisp white oxford.
The rapper took the look one step further by matching the harness to his bold bondage pants, the ultimate underground punk fashion statement. Covered with zippers, straps, and metal hardware, he looked like any other St. Marks, New York badass in the drainpipe trouser. But it was his star-emblazoned Givenchy boots that reminded us Mane hasn t gone completely DIY just yet.
