Powerfully pretty and surprisingly easy to pull off—a bold fuchsia lip looks cool in the summer heat. “I’m really into those beautiful shades with a little bit of a violet undertone right now,” says makeup artist Gucci Westman of the color worn here by Grace Mahary.
When it comes to finding your own perfect tone, on the other hand, Westman suggests turning your bathroom into a makeshift “lip lab”—blending high impact pink, magenta, and orchid cream pigments together until you find the most flattering mix. To give the lips a pressed-on quality, rather than anything too defined, she finishes by softening the edges with a brush or a bit of concealer. “It just always looks new and fresh.”
