Love is a many-splendored thing, especially when you’re gawking at it from the outside. In this column, we examine the celebrity couples who give us hope for our own romantic futures as we try to learn what we can from their well-documented bonds.

Oh, dear “I Want What They Have” squad, I am obsessed with this one: People reported on Tuesday that Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are allegedly an item. According to a source, the two are “currently enjoying each other’s company” (can we get this going as a euphemism? It’s so elegant!); theirs is “a budding romance in the early stages. It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other.” Swoon!

And indeed, Anderson and Neeson were seen looking, if not downright romantic, then at least quite fond of each other at the New York premiere of their new comedy The Naked Gun on Monday, where Anderson’s two sons were also present. I’m a firm believer that a good relationship brings out the best in your hair (not to boast, but I’m rocking my first-ever successful bob right now), and Anderson’s gorgeous little chop, which she debuted at the 2025 Met Gala, seems to be proof positive that something is working for the 58-year-old actress.

Of course, I’m also skeptical of celeb-for-celeb relationships that conveniently begin the moment the two stars have a project to promote, but I want Anderson and the sweet, bereaved single stepdad from Love Actually—I mean, Oscar-nominated actor Liam Neeson—to have found actual love so badly that I’m totally willing to tolerate the format.

Anderson and Neeson have both been dealt their share of heartbreak in the personal-life department; Neeson famously lost his wife Natasha Richardson in 2009, and Anderson has spoken publicly (most notably in her 2023 Netflix documentary Pamela, a Love Story) about the pain she experienced after her private sex tape with former husband and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee was leaked in 1996). At the risk of sounding like I remotely know these people—I don’t!—there’s something extremely charming about two likeable celebrities over 50 finding each other. I mean, who understands the experience of getting papped at Erewhon better than someone to whom that also happens?

Obviously, both parties being famous isn’t the only thing Anderson and Neeson have going for them. Both are parents of two boys; Neeson’s two sons with Richardson, Micheál and Daniel, are now in their 30s. I need to come across this four-son group eating a convivial blended-family dinner with their parents at the Polo Lounge ASAP!

We’ll see if Anderson and Neeson’s relationship is passing or a longtime partnership, but personally, I’m hoping this is the start of a real-life happy ending.
