Whether you watched J.W.Anderson’s Fall 2016 menswear show in the flesh in London or tuned in to its live-stream on Grindr, chances are the collection of cartoon characters, patterned furs, and wrestling booties has given you plenty to think about. Find the 10 things we’re meditating on here.
1. A$AP Rocky made his first London Collections: Men appearance today, sitting front row at J.W.Anderson.
2. The show opened with a loose-fit double-breasted white jacket with trailing ribbons worn with light beige trousers and lace-up sneakers.
3. Every model wore a Perspex choker with silver metal flathead studs.
4. This season’s hottest pattern is . . . snails? The mollusks appeared as a pattern large and small on many looks and were even turned into embroidered trim on a black tracksuit.
5. Jonathan Anderson’s ermine-inspired rabbit furs have potential to become street style fodder for both men and women.
6. The award for most-Instagrammed look goes to number 13, which features a sleepy cartoon character on a semi-sheer top.
7. Several themes from Anderson’s women’s Pre-Fall collection carried over into the men’s show today, including cloud-shaped chest pockets and the ankle and wrist ties that adorned several knit sets.
8. Models had a caret-shaped design drawn in black under their left eye and their hair held back by an elastic headband.
9. Hope you like pointed-toe, high-top sneakers with a wrestling bootie feel. The style, shown in several colorways, was worn with every look.
10. As always, Anderson wore his go-to uniform to bow at the end of the show: navy Uniqlo sweater, mid-wash jeans, and Nike sneakers.
