“That’s such a big question!” exclaimed Jimmy Choo’s Sandra Choi when pressed on her go-to Choo. “If it’s only one pair I’m allowed to choose, it’s a pair of boots. High-ish, like maybe three inches, a chunkier heel, in black suede.” And while Choi, dressed in a flowing Preen by Thornton Bregazzi frock and, naturally, Jimmy Choo boots, led the pack into dinner last night at L’Appart, the private dining room at Brookfield Place’s Le District, her cohost, Saks Fifth Avenue’s Tracy Margolies, brought the shine in a dazzling pair of gilt sandals. “I love the ornaments and the flash,” explained Margolies, a self-proclaimed stiletto girl, adding, “we’re just so proud to celebrate 20 years with Sandra!” That sentiment was echoed by the chic crew assembled last night including Indre Rockefeller, Jessica Joffe, and Lauren Remington Platt who were all chatting with the evening’s other cohost, Vogue’s Emma Morrison.
“Most of the model-off-duty pictures that you’ve screen shot in the last five years star some iteration of a Jimmy Choo boot,” laughed Morrison over light bites with her fellow co-hosts Cleo Wade and Kate Foley before everyone took their seats for an autumnal dinner. Margolies, who works directly above the haute boîte, was thrilled to have a new restaurant in her repertoire. “It’s so intimate!”
