Even though Kaia Gerber has already made headlines for her street style and landed magazine covers, there was still one new model rite of passage that she hadn’t yet undergone: a runway debut. That all changed tonight when Gerber appeared at Raf Simons’s Spring 2018 show for Calvin Klein. Joining the lineup of the designer’s favorites, which included superstars like Julia Nobis and Mica Arganaraz, Gerber took her first steps toward supermodel status by walking for the label that helped make her mother, Cindy Crawford, a household name. In the ’90s, Crawford was a Calvin regular, strutting her stuff alongside fellow supermodels Christy Turlington and Yasmin Le Bon. Now, Gerber has brought those all-American good looks (minus the trademark mole) back to Calvin for a whole new generation.

Having just snagged her driver’s license and a shout-out from Karlie Kloss only days ago, Gerber’s Calvin moment caps off a busy week. Finding balance between being a normal 16-year-old and a supermodel-in-training is no small feat, but so far, she’s managed to make it look easy. This season, Gerber heads up the group of six who made Calvin their first runway moment, joining newcomers Ariel Murtagh, Elysa Gorczevski, Julia Covert, Line Kjaergaard, Remington Williams, and Sofia Martynova as the latest additions to the CK family. By starting her New York Fashion Week with a bang, Gerber has set the stage for great things to come. Here, a primer on the Calvin class of Spring 2018.
