Kanye West presented his Yeezy collection at New York Fashion Week. Didn’t score an invite to the exclusive show? We have all the info below.
1. Just like last season, the show was packed with celebrity guests. Attendees this time around included Riccardo Tisci, Seth Meyers, Lorde, Courtney Love, Debbie Harry, Michael Stipe, Drake, Khloé Kardashian, 2 Chainz, Michael Strahan, Jaden Smith, and Tyga (who was wearing the camouflage T-shirt that served as the show’s invite).
2. Kim Kardashian West sat front row in a monochrome beige ensemble.
3. And North West sat on the floor in front of Mom, in a coordinating beige outfit, with an extra-special accessory: a red lollipop.
4. The presentation was staged as a collaboration with Vanessa Beecroft. Five de facto drill sergeants called out commands to the show’s models, who emerged single file and stood, facing straight forward, in rows.
5. Among the models this season was **Lucky Blue Smith’**s sister Pyper America Smith.
6. The clothing played off of the same layered, deconstructed look West debuted at his Fall 2015 show, with many looks including tights, body stockings, knits, and jackets.
7. Each outfit was monochrome and, for the most part, reflected the skin color of the model wearing it. Models were arranged by skin tone as well.
8. Everyone will be talking about the shoes. The Yeezy Duck boot was the footwear of choice on male and female models, though several women sported high-heeled boots. And the last guy out wore a pair of Adidas Yeezy Boosts.
9. As the models lined up for the finale, a new Kanye West song premiered. Its thumping dance beat was accompanied by the repeated lyrics, “Your love is fading” and “I feel it.”
10. After the models stood motionless while West’s latest track played, he walked up the center aisle smiling, and took a bow before heading backstage.
