To mark World Cancer Day, which occurs each year on February 4, Kate Middleton shared a message honoring the event with her followers on social media—and also shared an image captured by her six-year-old son, Prince Louis. In a frosty winter woodland setting, the Princess of Wales can be seen extending her arms outward, while bundled up in a hat, coat, and gloves. “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease,” the princess wrote, signing off with a simple “C” for Catherine.

Middleton’s decision to publicly observe World Cancer Day comes just a few weeks after she announced that she was in remission from cancer herself. On January 14, the princess shared the news with a heartfelt message that reiterated her positive mindset. “As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead,” she wrote. That same day, she paid a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in west London, where Middleton had received treatment following her cancer diagnosis in March 2024.

In keeping with that upbeat outlook, Middleton took the opportunity to hint that Prince Louis may have also caught the photography bug. The Princess of Wales is widely known to be a passionate photography enthusiast—an interest she first picked up during her student days. Over the years, she has regularly shared her family photographs with the world, while also collaborating with the celebrated fashion photographer Paolo Roversi on a series of portraits to mark her 40th birthday. It appears that the shutterbug spirit now runs in the family.
