It’s a predicament only Kim Kardashian West could understand—when there’s no one more famous or culturally relevant to be for Halloween than . . . yourself.
In a burst of meta brilliance, Kardashian West was her pregnant self at the 2013 Met Gala. “I think I nailed the Kim K costume,” she joked on Instagram, and indeed she did, wearing Riccardo Tisci’s controversial floral-print Givenchy dress (“still fits,” she quipped) and replicating her tight, center-part ponytail and bold lip.
A close read of this costume decision reveals two important points about Kardashian West: One, she was not afraid to wear that Tisci dress again, no matter how many couch memes it spawned, and two, that on very rare, special occasions, she’ll re-wear a dress at all.
