Our intrepid Market Editor (and in-house denim expert) Kelly Connor heads west to Wickenburg, Arizona, to join Levi’s in celebrating the 80th anniversary of Lady Levi’s jeans, befriending some cowboys, some horses, and some seriously great denim on the way.

There was a lovely package of goodies waiting for me when I arrived at Rancho de los Caballeros in Wickenburg, Arizona. I had packed all of my favorite Levi’s denim for the trip (which, as a denim editor, is A LOT), but I ended up not needing any of it! Levi’s spoiled me with all their best denim styles, tees, Western shirts and jackets, cowboy hats and bolo ties—cactus candy included. I found the embroidered denim jackets to be much cooler than name tags when meeting all the other guests at a barbecue (hosted by Levi’s vice president of womenswear Jill Guenza) that evening.
Cowgirl Magazine was on the bedside table in my room and became my fashion muse for the trip: I’m now inspired to continue dressing like a Western outlaw when I return to New York.
