Day five of New York Fashion Week has come and gone, and in its wake there s plenty to discuss. The day started downtown at The Row, where Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented a mostly monochrome and very minimalist collection. Later came shows from Jeremy Scott, Carolina Herrera, Phillip Lim, and Thom Browne, with the evening culminating at Rag Bone, where Marcus Wainwright and David Neville honed their streetwear-to-runway vision. Oh, and it snowed. Get all the news from the shows and more, here.
Every Day the MK and A Way
The Row’s presentation this morning was the ultimate Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen experience. Guests sat on vintage furniture and took home cashmere throws—in between, the sisters presented one of their most pristine and serene collections to date.
The Future Is Now at Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera’s show might have taken place in the historic halls of The Frick, but the designers’s mind was firmly on the future, using 3-D embroidery techniques on luxe gowns.
Sandals in a Snowstorm—It Could Only Be Solange
Solange Knowles sat front row at Rodebjer’s show last night, and opened up to Vogue.com’s Chioma Nnadi about her Valentine’s Day plans, fashion rules, and life in New Orleans.
All Aboard the S.S. Tommy!
Gigi Hadid opened and closed Tommy Hilfiger’s nautical-themed show at the Park Avenue Armory. In between Hadid’s exits were peppy jackets, midi skirts, and luxe leather outerwear.
The Scene Behind the Scenes
Vogue.com photographer Kevin Tachman has been backstage at the shows, capturing the in-between moments, like this one of Irina Kravchenko making paper airplanes.
Leather Jackets or Hoodies?
Or both, if you
re model Ruth Bell. The frigid weather in New York has forced the street style set to bring their best coat game, and Phil Oh was there to capture it all.
Ren
Stimpy Take NYFW
Jeremy Scott loves a good cartoon, so it’s no surprise that cult ’90s characters Ren and Stimpy appeared on tees and dresses in Scott’s collection. Other than the ’toons, Scott also offered up leopard prints, rocket ships, and some cowgirl fun.
A Day in the Life of Candice
Model Candice Huffine took Vogue.com behind the scenes of her runway walk at Sophie Theallet, documenting her fittings, hair and makeup, and selfies with other models along the way.
Let Your Pants Be Your Scarf
Among the sights at Thom Browne’s presentation today were fur-lined pants worn as a scarf, skirts made of shirts, and a dog-shaped bag complete with wheel to walk it by.
Kimonos, Meet Plaids
Phillip Lim looked to Japan for inspiration for his Fall 2016 3.1 Phillip Lim collection. Kimono shapes were supplemented with checks, crushed velvets, and ginkgo-print dresses.
Moto-Mania at Rag
Bone
Rag
Bone has always had a streetwise sensibility, and designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville mined it further for a collection that fused motocross influences with their signature staples.
