SKIN
Margaux: First of all, I like that Markle is clearly dedicated to not having chapped lips—there are a variety of options here. My favorite tried-and-true is the OG Laniege sleeping mask in berry, too—it feels like the flavor is paying respect to the cake she made on Love, Meghan? It also makes sense that there would be two products from Tatcha on this list, because Markle’s makeup artist, Daniel Martin, is the head of artistry there. Both of her selects also happen to be some of my favorite products from the line. The Dewy Skin Cream is a great moisturizer for a day when you’re not sure what your skin needs—it’s light, but hard-working for summer months. The two products Markle convinced me to try were the Sarah Chapman sheet mask and Acorna scrub. I’ll admit, the former confused me a bit: I’m a huge fan of sheet masks, but this one is three different layers, and I found it hard to situate on my face. The latter? I’m a ’90s baby, which means I love a physical scrubby-scrub on my face and this one is a new favorite.
Kiana: There’s so much synergy between Markle’s regimen and my own skincare routine. I love La Roche-Posay’s hydrating cleanser—it’s exceptionally gentle while removing all dirt and residue from the skin. This primes skin well to drink up Tatcha’s squalane-rich nourishers, and exceptional face masks by Tata Harper and Sarah Chapman. In fact, the other night, I layered the latter sheet mask and Medicube’s Korean collagen mask which resulted in the dreamiest skin ever. (I even sent Margaux a selfie as proof.) Clearly, Markle has a penchant for K-beauty—the Laneige lip mask is a long-held editor’s pick.
HAIR
Margaux: If there’s one place I am interested in going to when I’m next in LA, it’s Markle’s hair salon. Opened by Kadi Lee and Myka Harris, the if-you-know-you-know Venice Beach salon is loved by Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, and of course, Markle. Last November, they released supplements and the Root Replenish Active Growth Serum—two products I have always been avoidant of because of displeasing tastes and textures. The serum is water-like (that’s a good thing, in my opinion) and has virtually no scent, so I’m game to give it a try.
Kiana: Everyone knows the secret to healthy hair is a good scalp serum, and Highbrow Hippie’s is as a well-regarded as they come to improve hair’s look, feel, and density. On shaping and styling, Markle is so real for including Lottabody’s edge control—a beauty supply store classic to keep the edges and flyaways in place for hours.
MAKEUP
Margaux: A lot of these brands are goodies: RMS Beauty, Saie, Thrive. I have to say the most interesting discovery for me was the No Makeup Makeup foundation—the compact has a cream-to-powder finish that’s really buildable and sheer. I like for areas like my forehead and nose, which tend to get very…shiny. It was just a touch matte, while still showing my freckles, which is a great combination for warmer weather. Also, no blush? I really want to know what her flush of choice, but maybe that’s for the next update.
Kiana: Saie’s Glowy Super Gel is my favorite skincare-makeup hybrid ever! It gives skin such radiance without the weight—perfect for wearing on its own or layering beneath a skin tint for the perfect lit-from-within bronze that s only bolstered by RMS’s Luminizer highlighter. I’m also a big fan of Markle’s lip routine—nothing beats Summer Friday’s lip balm which delivers a glossy sheen and quells dryness. MAC’s lip liner for added definition is also a must—I’m just wondering what shade she wears.
NAILS
Margaux: If you haven’t read it already, here’s my breakdown of the CND nail look Markle rocks throughout the show, which I’ve dubbed the “Montecito Manicure.”
Kiana: Clean girl manicure, anyone? I am obsessed with the wearability of Markle’s nail look! A pale pink, almost milky mani is a classic—always helpful to know the exact shades. I expect nail salons across the world are experiencing an influx of requests for this exact CND duo—myself included. Between the gel polish and Dazzle Dry, it’s clear that Markle is keen on keeping her nails chip-free without waiting for traditional polish to dry. Every beauty gal knows Dazzle Dry is the best at-home solution sans UV lamp.
