Donatella Versace celebrated her 61st birthday in grand style last night: at the Met Gala, where she walked the red carpet with Kate Hudson, who sported a futuristic white dress by Versace, and Lady Gaga, who wore 10-inch heels and a Versace blazer that resembled a circuit board. But the best part of her birthday celebration was to come. While performances by The Weeknd and Nas and a DJ set by Grandmaster Flash whipped the party into a dancing frenzy, it was perhaps the cake that Lady Gaga brought for Versace that really took, well, the cake.
The three-tiered confection was emblazoned with a relief of the Versace logo front and center, topped with delicate spun-sugar flowers, and looked as if the entire thing had been dipped in solid gold. We would expect nothing less from Gaga, and it seems nothing less could possibly do for Versace.
