There are tons of ways to make everyday clothes work as Halloween costumes, but what about the reverse? There s no reason the stylish getup of a monster, witch or, say, ghostly schemer can t carry a little inspiration into your everyday wardrobe (especially if you d rather buy something runway-worthy for your Halloween costume). Case in point: **Michael Keaton **s famous graphic, fitted suit in **Tim Burton **s 1988 film Beetlejuice. In the film—which was the Birdman actor s breakout role—Keaton makes a joke about doing a photoshoot for GQ, but lose the ghoulish makeup and shocking white hair, and it s possible to see another more wearable side to the Beetlejuice suit. The slim-cut shoulders and laissez-faire necktie would look cool under a brightly colored fall coat, and the idea of wearing tailored pants with a pair of black motorcycle boots seems ripe for the picking. Plus, there s something that feels right about menswear with a graphic black-and-white stripe. The stark pattern was on the runways in the Armani and Gucci spring 2015 men s collections, reinterpreted on wide eighties-style lapels with black piping, and just the peek of a shirt collar under a sweater. Paired with pale blue jeans or a black wide-leg trouser, no one would guess your style cue came from a phantom crush whose head spins.
