Natalie Portman and Christian Bale Celebrate Their Latest Flicks at the Soho House During TIFF

Celebrating the world premiere of The Promise—an epic romance set against the backdrop of WWI’s Armenian Genocide—cast members Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Angela Sarafyan, Marwan Kenzari, and director Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) headed to Soho House Toronto on Sunday night to toast the heavy drama’s impact and cinematic achievement. With Grey Goose cocktails flowing, director Atom Egoyan (Chloe), Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, and actress Anne Heche—in town to promote Catfight, which premiered at TIFF Friday—also dropped by to lend their support, before making room for Jackie castmates later that night.

One of the most-buzzed-about films at this year’s festival, Jackie chronicles the events leading up to and following the assassination of JFK through the eyes of Jacqueline Kennedy, played by Natalie Portman, who takes center stage as the film’s title character. Portman—whose second pregnancy was recently announced with husband Benjamin Millepied—made her way through Soho House Toronto late Sunday night alongside director Pablo Larraín (Tony Manero), hugging guests and glowing in a sheer Prada gown and Tiffany Co. earrings. Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, stylist Sophie Lopez, Evan Rachel Wood, Ruth Negga, Joel Edgerton, Andre Holland, and Jill Soloway also stopped by the hopping post-premiere bash—which kicked into high gear after Portman showed off her dance moves amid a gaggle of beaming girlfriends.
