Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez turned heads in the fashion world when they announced they’d be departing New York Fashion Week in favor of Paris’s Couture Week in July. As longtime New Yorkers who got their start when Barneys New York bought their Parsons senior thesis collection, they couldn’t just leave without a swan song. Today, the duo showed their Fall 2017 collection in Manhattan, closing the door on one chapter of their brand’s history. Here, we look back at seven notable moments from the show—keep watch on Vogue Runway for Nicole Phelps’s full review.

1. The Logo StrapsProenza Schouler has never been an overtly flashy brand, so when they opted to design logo gear, McCollough and Hernandez subverted form, folding their logo in half and securing it to zipper pulls and straps that hung from jackets and purses. Only those in the know will be able to ID them at first glance.

2. The Artful JewelryFine art has long been an inspiration for the designers. This season, they crafted coil-like bangles that snaked around models’ arms in jet black and pale lilac.

5. The High-Shine FinaleLest you think that this Proenza outing would be all deconstructed daywear, the pair sent out a finale of glittering dresses with the hip scooped away. In fire red, sky blue, and golden ivory, the trio of dresses spoke to the collection’s Americana spirit.
