There’s not much the world knows about Prince Louis—he’s five, after all—but we do know one thing for certain: the kid has some serious fun on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
During today’s Trooping the Colour, the annual official celebration of the monarch’s birthday, Louis gathered with his family to watch the British Royal Air Force flypast. Wearing a navy blue suit next to his older brother, Prince George, and older sister, Princess Charlotte, Louis seemed captivated by the whole ordeal. He gave a double-handed wave to the crowd as well as saluted the soldiers below. At one point, he dramatically craned his head upward to look at the planes. And, in a particularly cute moment, he enthusiastically punched the air in a Buzz Lightyear-esque motion. (Although it did seem a bit loud for the little prince, who at one point, covered his ears.) Earlier in the day, he also rode down the Buckingham Palace Mall in an open horse-drawn carriage with his siblings.
His mother, Princess of Wales, was also seen playing with his hair throughout as a gentle maternal gesture.
It’s just the latest entertaining moment from Prince Louis, who has captivated the public in his select few appearances. He yawned and danced at King Charles’s coronation, whereas at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, he got up to some (entirely age-appropriate) antics, which included blowing a raspberry at his mother. “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis,” his parents joked on social media at the time.
Here’s hoping he never changes.
