Recently, I have been obsessed with all things classic and Americana. Whether it’s the Ralph Lauren documentary I recently watched, or nostalgia for a simpler time, I have recently been gravitating towards heritage pieces that are well made and decisively non-trendy.
I’ve also found myself inspired by Ralph Lauren’s iconic ads from the ’90s, with endless Pinterest boards dedicated to this natural, distinctly American way of dressing. (Sustainability, natch.) The one item I seem to be missing, however, is a great cowboy boot. Growing up on the East Coast, this was simply not something I ever desired—until now! I love that I can wear them with denim, with a longer silky dress, or even an evening gown for a truly Ralph-esque look. The heel height is just enough to make me feel sturdy, while I love the cadence and swagger I have walking in them. And, judging by the assortment of options I have discovered, the cowboy boot is well on its way to feeling modern once again.
