Ralph Lauren switched things up for his show today. For starters, he usually presents his collections on the morning of the very last day of NYFW (which is tomorrow); instead, he opted for a twilight show tonight. Lauren also moved from various downtown venues to his uptown flagship on Madison Avenue, where he built a giant glass showspace on the sidewalk. Those changes reflect an even bigger shift for the designer: He’s switching to the in-season, see-now-shop-now format, along with the likes of Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger. If the move makes sense for anyone, it’s Lauren, who was one of the first designers to make fashion attainable to the masses. While you wait for Chioma Nnadi’s review and more coverage from the show, click through the top nine highlights below.
- Lauren presented his first see-now-buy-now collection in a glass showspace constructed on the sidewalk in front of his store. It opened into the accessories level.
