Rihanna is not one to do things halfway. On Sunday in Los Angeles, the singer wore not one but two luxe animal print pieces from the ’90s for a night out with A$AP Rocky.
The singer and rapper enjoyed a date night sans kids at Wally’s in Beverly Hills, both dressed to the nines. Rocky wore a dapper Gucci suit with a monogram tie and a pair of rectangular shades. Rihanna looked to the past with her look, doubling up on archival pieces. She wore a mink fur coat from Roberto Cavalli’s fall 1999 collection—a brown knee-length jacket with symmetrical tiger stripes. The rare piece surely came with a hefty price tag: on the online secondhand luxury marketplace 1st Dibs, the coat was priced at $17,2000.
Underneath, the Savage x Fenty founder power clashed with even more animal print in a long sleeve A-line tiger printed dress. The mini dress, with its mock neck and asymmetrical hemline, is a piece from Dolce Gabbana’s spring 1996 collection. Originally worn on the runway by Kate Moss, the look was styled for the show with a matching tiger print fedora and raffia top handle bag. (Thankfully, she went hatless for this outing, showing off her latest hairstyle, a close-cropped side with a longer blonde section on the top, reminiscent of her Rated R era.) While the dress was originally shown for spring, Rihanna made it autumn-appropriate with black tights and black pointy-toed pumps. If anybody can rock a double animal print, it’s Rihanna. We’d even venture to say she looks purrfect.
