Well, after taking a brief break from fashion month, it appears that Rihanna is back in her sartorial groove. After taking her front row perch with her mother and brother at Dior s show earlier this week, the 27-year-old singer has been favoring diaphanous styles, including the maxi silhouette at last night s Paris Vogue party; fit-and-flare frocks; and slip dresses. However, earlier today, the superstar took in the sights in a bold update on last season s must-have: the statement coat.
In contrast to versions that focused on embellishments like fur trim, Rihanna arrived at the Eiffel Tower in a voluminous variegating striped Dior Haute Couture coat that married an Eastern-influenced silhouette with elements of menswear fashion—note the pinstripe sleeve—and Pop Art graphics. Balancing out the overwhelmingly graphic nature of the look was a crisp, white Dior Haute Couture button-down and dark blue skirt for a fresh take on classic French-girl style. C’est magnifique!
