The fall collections are done for the season, and that means there s a bevy of new trends and styling tricks to try out before the pieces arrive in stores. One thing that came through on the runways was a return to OTT glamour. Singer Rita Ora, who was spotted on the streets of London earlier today on her way to celebrations for Coca Cola s one hundredth anniversary, clearly got the memo. Her Sorapol halter neck–style dress recalls the power dressing of the eighties while a cascading cape provides an elegant finish to the look. And you can expect to see more of that fire-engine red shade in the season ahead: Alexander McQueen, Diane von Furstenberg, and Roberto Cavalli experimented with the color. While this isn t exactly the kind of thing you d wear to do a grocery run, the slinky silhouette makes for a glam yet modern vibe. With tongue-in-cheek soda-print stilettos by Sophia Webster peeking out from under her dress, Ora isn t the kind to take herself too seriously, after all.
