Those looking to add a little of Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s California magic to their wardrobes without breaking the bank are in luck. The duo behind Rodarte is collaborating with the contemporary retailer Other Stories on a line of clothing, accessories, and shoes set to debut in stores and online this spring.
“Through this special collaboration with Other Stories, we are excited to translate the Rodarte narrative into a new environment,” the Mulleavys wrote in a release. “ Other Stories’s unique positioning in the fashion landscape has allowed us to create a truly special collection.”
While both the retailer and the designers are staying mum on the specifics of their forthcoming collaboration, you can get a sneak peek in our exclusive image. Though only the bottom half of the model is visible, her slinky black dress, patterned tights, and glittering heels give a sense of the kind of haute mash-up shoppers can expect. The rest of the collection promises similar remixes of the sisters’ dreamy aesthetic, all ranging in price from $29 for tights to $325 for a sequin dress.
Rodarte’s partnership with the retailer is the latest in Other Stories s string of successful collaborations, which have included hip musicians (Lykke Li), indie designers (Rachel Antonoff), and street style stars (Ada Kokosar). For their share, the Mulleavys also have a fair number of collaborative projects under their rhinestoned and sparkling belts, including a capsule collection for Opening Ceremony and a limited-edition project with Starbucks. The sisters are also working on their first feature film, starring Kirsten Dunst.
