The French manicure has traditionally been the ultimate bridal go-to, until Jennifer Lopez’s “milky nails” for her wedding to Ben Affleck. Since then, the style has emerged as the big trend in bridal manicures—until Rosalia and Sofia Richie made their appearance at the Met Gala 2025, that is. With their spectacular white dresses and matching manicures, both confirm that white nails are the perfect new style for brides.
Of course, the white manicure technically isn’t anything new. The classic style is beloved by Jennifer Lopez in particular, and it’s little wonder why. According to manicurist Erica da Silva, it’s one of the most versatile nail polish shades, and since it’s a natural tone, it’s especially rejuvenating for older hands. “It’s comparable to seeing a radiant white smile,” says da Silva.
We also love that everyone can bring their own personalities to this manicure. Even though both Richie and Rosalía opted for a bright-white shade, the former went for a shorter style, while the latter opted for an almond shape—and both matched perfectly with their long white dresses. (Richie’s was by Tommy Hilfiger, and Rosalía’s by Balmain.) They’re perfect for anybody ready to say “I do.”
