Does a sexy yeti boot exist? Has anyone ever detected a sliver of allure from the thick, fur-coated moon boots that were so beloved in the ’70s? (Your mother probably has a pair hiding in the back of her closet.) Turns out the red-hot hirsute boot isn’t a total myth: There was a surprisingly elegant sighting at tonight’s Saint Laurent Spring 2018 show. Several thigh- and shin-skimming incarnations came down the runway, but instead of fur and platforms, they featured wispy feathers and a sleek sky-high heel. The shoes came in bold hues of black, blue, and of course, abominable snowman white.
Anthony Vaccarello, who took the helm of Saint Laurent three seasons ago, has a history of making outré footwear. For Fall 2017, he created a pair of physics-defying pumps and for Spring 2017, he sent out the viral YSL logo heel. Now, let’s see how these new yeti boots fare this Spring.
