Adrian Sherwood and Rob Ellis (aka Pinch) are two British producers who’ve come together for a new album, Late Night Endless, and brought their disparate influences with them. There’s a little bit of the Jamaican dub that Sherwood pioneered in the eighties working with Lee “Scratch” Perry; a little of the mystical World rhythms that Pinch perfected on his records with Planet Mu and as head of the label Tectonic; and a little of that hard-to-describe, mysterious quality that comes with the blending of two different visions. “Stand Strong” is the album s second single, and it doesn’t sound quite like anything else out there right now. With vocals from Temi “Queen” Odeyale, the song has a delicate, quiet beat and an almost spiritual sense of fullness.
