One of the main ingredients in Sacai’s inventive, melting pot of a collection was the bandana print. Surprisingly enough, these paisley-printed squares, so commonly associated with cowboys and gangsters, take their decorative motif from the farther east. Using her signature hybrid magic, designer Chitose Abe expanded the range of this traditional and highly symbolic pattern. Chez Sacai, bandana-print looks borrowed from saris (draping, borders) and schoolgirls (accordion pleats). Studded and grommeted neckerchiefs added swashbuckling cowgirl flair to these outfits, which are sure to be the bib and tucker of the street style set come spring.
