Blessed with impossibly plush lips and wild blonde waves that call to mind a grungy Brigitte Bardot, garage punk rocker turned model Staz Lindes was practically born to be a Saint Laurent muse. The Paranoyds frontwoman, who signed on as the new face of YSL Beauté last month, is also bringing a much-needed dose of raw cool to Instagram’s immaculately contoured modelscape.
One moment she’s paying homage to the original French siren, fresh-faced with cat-eye shades and eyelash-skimming fringe; the next, she’s subverted the entire trope with jagged microbangs and a smear of blood red lipstick. Glam rock, too, clearly holds a special place in Lindes’s heart, with glittering rainbow starbursts or a single swath of anthracite pigment adorning her lids—all amounting to a ’60s-by-way-of-the-East-Village aesthetic that screams, “I’m in the band.”
Here, nine times Lindes’s feed proved rock ’n’ roll is alive and well.
