Sydney Sweeney can add “music video muse” to her already stacked resume. The Euphoria star took up the starring role in the Rolling Stones’ video for their song “Angry” off their forthcoming album Hackney Diamonds.
The Emmy-nominated actor was spotted filming the music video in July. “Rock n Roll, Syd,” Sweeney’s longtime stylist Molly Dickson teased on Instagram. “Can’t wait for you guys to see this music video.”
Decked out in black leather, Sweeney looked the part of a rockstar, cruising down Sunset Boulevard in the back of a cherry red Mercedes convertible. She wore a leather, biker-chic zip-up bustier from Versace and a pair of studded leather chaps complete with star cutouts held together with silver hardware and cords from Los Angeles-based designer Zana Bayne. Dickson finished off Sweeney’s look with ultra-high patent leather platform boots; a silver, gem-encrusted choker by Loree Rodkin; silver earrings, and a thick belt buckle.
“Angry” marks the first single off of Hackney Diamonds, The Rolling Stones’ first album since 2016’s Blue Lonesome, and 18 years since they released original music. This new record is also their first since the death of longtime drummer Charlie Watts in 2021. Two songs from Hackney Diamonds will feature Watts’ drumming, and the rest will be played by touring drummer Steve Jordan, whom Watts personally recommended.
With the Stones playing well into their seventies and eighties, and Sydney Sweeney’s music video appearance, it’s clear that rock ‘n roll is alive and well.
