The women of The White Lotus season 2 reunited at the 2023 Emmys, and they came dressed to kill.
Like Lucia and Mia, their BFF counterparts, the dynamic duo Simona Tabasco and Beatrice Grannò coordinated outfits, both wearing florals. Tabasco—practically unrecognizable without her signature bob—wore a scrapbook Marni dress, a standout from the brand’s spring 2024 collection. Grannò wore a sparkly black Armani Privé column dress affixed with very trendy red rosettes and a black bow at the bust. (It’s worth noting that, despite their prescience, neither feel too on the nose.)
Meghann Fahy, who earned a nod for her role as the sunny yet secretive Daphne Sullivan, was also a fan of the beloved floral trend. The actor kept it fairly simple in her strapless sweetheart dress with a rosette trim and minimal jewelry. Still, in her fiery red Armani Privé, Fahy clearly knows that sometimes, less is indeed more.
Aubrey Plaza, who is nominated for her role as the icy Harper Spiller, turned to Loewe for her special night. The actor wore a champagne-colored dress with an oversized knitting needle piercing the top, which she paired with metallic gold platform peep toes.
Jennifer Coolidge, also nominated for her second (and presumably final) turn as the infinitely quotable Tanya McQuoid, opted for a darker hue—a sartorial sendoff for her character. She donned a black empire waisted dress from Etro, complete with a dahlia motif, micro-pleats, ruffles, and lace galore. Perhaps the brief was Monica Vitti attending a funeral?
Unfortunately, it seemed that one cast member was nowhere to be found: Haley Lu Richardson, who played the hapless Portia. While we’ll never know what she would have worn for the ceremony, we can only hope that she would have broken out a crocheted piece in Portia’s honor. (Though we imagine that she would’ve traded in the sweater vest and bucket hat for The Row or Diotima…)
