Rise and shine, Chalamaniacs: Timothée Chalamet is officially on his Wonka press tour! The actor stars in Paul King’s latest movie—out December 15—as a young Willy Wonka, and he’s sure to dress to the nines to promote it. Joined by co-stars Hugh Grant and Olivia Coleman for a photocall in London today, Chalamet went the tailored route with a classic pinstriped suit. Leave it to the fashion-forward star to make the two-piece suit feel less Wall Street banker, and more Hollywood heartthrob.
He chose a sleek Alexander McQueen blazer with a draped hemline, which provided a subtle—but impactful—update on the classic structured jacket. His styling also made it feel totally fresh. He didn’t wear a shirt or tie underneath, making the suit feel less formal and stuffy, and way more youthful. The star accessorized it, meanwhile, with chunky leather combat boots (also by McQueen), as well as a nail-pendant necklace from Cartier, as well as several rings from the fine jewelry label (he’s a friend of the house, after all). Combined, it was the perfect mix of traditional and contemporary. It’s safe to say the press tour is off to a strong start.
