A gilt, canopied bassinet draped in pink and white lace and dotted with angels—it’s something out of a fairy tale. Or, as Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis describes her niece’s bed, “a girl’s dream!” While a newborn might need little more than a place to sleep (hopefully through the night), that hasn’t stopped generations of excited parents from creating fantasylands for their wee ones.
