After presenting her collection at the Whitney Museum early yesterday, Tory Burch was ready to let her hair down. And what better place than her palatial pad at New York’s The Pierre hotel to celebrate her latest offering—the Gemini Link collection. A Gemini herself, who also happens to be a mom to twin boys, we asked Burch, dressed in a frock from her Resort collection, a few questions that may hint at her two personalities. So . . . naughty or nice? “Naughty and then nice!” exclaimed the designer, flanked by friends including Carlos Mota, Meredith Melling, and Wendi Murdoch. As for stilettos or sneakers, Burch, without hesitation, answered: “Stilettos.”
Joining Burch at her expansive and elegant home were a gaggle of models fresh from the catwalk, actresses of the silver screen, and, naturally, her biggest fashion fans. Revelers—sipping bygone-era cocktails like Manhattans and old-fashioneds—included Liya Kebede sporting a fresh, beachy do; Kenya Kinski-Jones resplendent in a ’70s-inspired track top and trouser set; and Jessica Alba, who did a quick change into a city-friendly uniform of all black. Between the nibbles on offer, the Gemini Link bracelets given to guests, and the surprise performance from music’s next big thing, Chloe x Halle, the streets of Fifth Avenue were rocking well into the evening.
