Donatella Versace took her second bow of the season tonight. Less than a week after presenting Versus Versace in London, her vibrant Spring ’17 Versace collection hit the runway in Milan, set to a spoken-word soundtrack by Violet Photonz that celebrated the power of the female future. Bombshell models like Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, and Irina Shayk walked in the show, which featured graphic, sport-inspired pieces as well as a few surprising developments. While you wait for Sarah Mower s review, see nine of our highlights below.
1. Naomi Campbell walked the runway in a striped track jacket and flowing skirt—a new combination you’re bound to see on the street.
2. Sporty fabrics featured prominently in the collection, like this turquoise nylon dress with ruched drawstrings. In the show notes, Versace wrote, "Sportswear is the future of fashion; to make it unique and luxurious is the challenge I took this season."
3. Speaking of sports, tennis star Serena Williams sat in the front row.
4. In several looks, fabrics and prints were slashed and collaged together, like Adriana Lima’s checkerboard top and high-slit skirt.
5. Black suiting is a Versace signature. Here, the trousers were cropped and flared—all the better to show off your footwear—and jackets featured leather embellishments.
6. If Versace is advocating for men’s shirting, it’s officially a trend. Bella Hadid wore a classic blue shirt buttoned all the way up.

7. Elsewhere, there was piled-on sparkle and embellishment, like these crystal chainmail dresses.
8. The beauty look was characteristically sexy and sleek. Models sported shiny, flat-ironed hair, glowing skin, and minimal eye makeup.

9. The new must-have shoe chez Versace looked a lot like a Teva. Take a tip from Donatella and balance yours with a thigh-grazing mini dress.
