Paris is known as a premier destination for vintage shops. A treasure-hunter’s dream, whether you have a penchant for Y2K or the depths of the storied French houses. Stepping out for Paris Fashion Week, both Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner dressed up in their best European vintage finds—Bieber slung a Chanel bag over her shoulder and stepped into some metallic Manolo Blahnik slingbacks, while Jenner toted a lacquered ruby red Gucci clutch. Rather than gems scavenged from a boutique in Le Marais, these pieces were sourced from The Vintage Marché, an LA-based destination for designer vintage treasures.
Founder Lili Aghaei started The Vintage Marché in 2023 as a passion project, curating small drops of rare shoes on Instagram while pregnant with her daughter, which quickly grew into a global business. She’s since expanded into handbags and accessories, with monthly drops. Think: Tom Ford-era Gucci, Fendi baguettes in pristine condition and myriad of colors and prints, buttery leather Chanel loafers, and signature Prada bags.
“[I have] an obsessive attention to condition, authenticity, and detail,” says Aghaei. “Every piece I source is one I’d be proud to carry myself, and that commitment has earned the trust of stylists, influencers, and celebrities who rely on me to deliver the rarest treasures.”
Bieber and Jenner’s wares were purchased by their stylist Dani Michelle and her assistant Elizabeth Mahon.
“[Michelle] is truly one of the kindest women in the industry,” she says. “I host stylists and VIP clients at a private LA showroom, where they can preview and pull from our newest arrivals.” Michelle selected a few just-landed pieces, and both Jenner and Bieber chose to purchase them.
Aghaei shares that Bieber’s vintage Chanel handbag in black grosgrain, with a gold-tone CC logo and crystal embellishments, is a rare 1990s piece. “This style is nearly impossible to find in flawless shape today,” she says. The Manolo Blahnik slingbacks are from the late ’90s or early ’00s, “from the height of the Sex and the City era when metallic Manolos were the shoe.”
“This Chanel is particularly special to me—it’s the third time I’ve sourced it, and every time it sells out within minutes.”
Jenner purchased two vintage Gucci lizard clutches—one in a rich Bordeaux tone, and a smaller one in black. “These clutches are hallmarks of the 1980s, when Gucci produced a series of exotic-skin evening bags with sleek, minimal hardware,” says Aghaei. “We’ve sourced this clutch in a handful of colorways and sizes over the past few months, and it consistently sells out.” In fact, they’ll be releasing two more in an upcoming Fall edit on October 15.
Sydney Sweeney was one of Aghaei’s first big celebrity moments—her stylist Molly Dickson pulled a vintage Prada pony-hair shoulder bag for her trip to Stagecoach. She’s also struck up a working relationship with Nina Dobrev and her stylist Lauren Jeworski. “I admired her for years as a young girl watching The Vampire Diaries, and now she’s wearing and even renting pieces from us for Paris Fashion Week,” Aghaei says. The “real magic” though is with the store’s everyday clients who consistently come back for their monthly drops.
Resisting keeping pieces for herself is always difficult; Aghaei has a particular love of Tom Ford’s Gucci Slim Horsebit bags from the 1990s. “Its minimalist silhouette makes it endlessly chic and timeless, the definition of quiet luxury,” she says. “The design’s influence has only grown: Gucci even reintroduced the slim Horsebit in their 2023 collection, a testament to its lasting relevance. We’re fortunate to have sourced several of these vintage originals, along with a few from the new collection.”
Aghaei’s tips for sourcing and buying vintage yourself? Condition is everything, but beyond that, “trust your eye for timeless design,” she says. “My biggest tip is to be highly selective: not every vintage piece is worth bringing home. I look for quality craftsmanship, pristine condition, and silhouettes that feel just as relevant today. Rarity matters, of course, but only when paired with longevity—a rare piece that’s falling apart won’t serve you. The magic of good vintage is when it feels both nostalgic and modern, a piece that truly lasts.”
The Vintage Marché has four drops left in 2025 that will lean into the seasonal moods. Think brown suedes, animal prints, and transitional staples like loafers and ballet flats. They’ll also include slingbacks like Bieber’s, and of-the-moment jewel-toned satin accessories. There’s also shoulder bags, structured top-handles, and clutches. “As always, we’re hunting down the rare gems from the maisons we’re known for: Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Celine, and Fendi,” Aghaei says. “The focus is on pieces that feel both deeply nostalgic and impossibly current—the kind of treasures that make winter dressing exciting again.”
The Vintage Marché’s next drop is October 15 at 9a.m. PST
