Sometimes I wonder how I’d behave if I were a bona fide A-lister at the Oscars. Would I blend in, wearing something classic and timeless, smiling for the cameras before going home at a reasonable hour? Or would I use the opportunity to make an impact, seizing the night in such a way that when people said “what happened at the 2025 Oscars?” my name would flash into their minds like a siren? Zoë Kravitz, of course, aimed for the latter, with what can only be described as a “bum dress” (a less than glamorous name for a very glamorous satin and rhinestone-encrusted floor-length peephole number), which she wore to the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party following the ceremony.
Though the actress literally flashed her behind (which, again, I would too, if I were Kravitz), the dress itself was sleek and demure, paired with her signature soft make-up, a graceful low bun, a classic red nail and a pair of diamond drop earrings. The dress felt very Kravitz, who has historically gone for all-black at awards shows and red carpets (although she has been on something of a boho streak recently).
The Oscars appearance also comes fresh off the back of her fairly recent break-up with Channing Tatum. Is it fair to call this a revenge dress? Either way, though Kravitz wasn’t up for any awards, she certainly won the Oscar for cheekiest dress of the evening.
