The Resort 2015 Trend Report

With nearly 250 labels now showing Resort, participating in Pre-Spring has become an industry standard—as opposed to extra credit. For the big three, it s an opportunity to dazzle showgoers with elaborate runway productions in far-flung destinations—Chanel in Dubai; Louis Vuitton in Monaco; and Dior in Brooklyn, of all places. Designers with smaller budgets took a more straightforward approach, distilling their essence while giving customers something new to covet. As for the news: Retro-fab seventies pantsuits and sharp, A-line midi skirts were the season s fresh silhouette propositions. Florals and stripes got timely updates, too. But the developing story we ve really got our eye on is the season s nouveau bohemian mood. Our pick for look of the season goes to Lanvin s silk peasant blouse and long prairie skirt, worn to perfection by suddenly-everywhere model Jamie Bochert.
