Ain’t No Party Like an Alexander Wang Party! A Look Inside the Designer’s Tequila-, Champagne-, and Vodka-Soaked After-Party

Late Saturday night, the beautiful and the damned danced above 5th Avenue until the morning. After the riotous Bulgari x Alexander Wang event, the celebration continued at Wang’s private after-party.

Emancipated from the decorum inherent to branded functions, a glittering crew of models, musicians, and designers descended upon Le Chalet at Saks Fifth Avenue. A haunt favored by the likes of Gigi Hadid and Virgil Abloh, the elegant space—a rustic bar below the splendor of L’Avenue—provided the perfect tables to dance on, corners to whisper in, and terraces to escape to. An electrifying set of rap, house, and pop—provided by DJs Bambii and Pedro Cavaliere—pounded throughout the night.

With lacquered hair and a sharp suit, G-Eazy, one of the many rappers in attendance along with YG and Migos, sauntered around the wood-paneled lounge like a modern Don Draper. Wang’s guest to this year’s Met gala, Hailey Bieber, moved among the colorful crowd. Across the room, another blond, Lucky Blue Smith, draped himself across a chair, his shirt fully flayed. At the bar, Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney chatted with her fellow cast members.

In a bubblegum pink wig, a leopard coat, and little else, Doja Cat mounted the stage, and the crowd erupted. The rising star treated the room to a selection of her bawdy, irreverent hits. Maliibu Miitch and Mazurbate followed her lead and performed sets of their own. As the hours passed, the energy soared. Along with the occasional hamburger and spring roll, guests consumed copious quantities of Champagne and L’Avenue’s signature drinks: L’Vodka Sodas, L’Tequila Sodas, and “Au Revoir B-tches” shots.

“I have a special theme for you tonight,” the designer cooed to his hard-partying guests. “L’black out!”
