Photo: Brian Dorsey Studios1/24We wanted to do something to make our guests feel like they were going to our wedding, not just another massive event in Manhattan, so Michael suggested that I paint our save the date. It took over 20 hours (I hadn’t painted in years and was pretty rusty), but by the end of it I knew I arrived at the personal touch we were looking for.
Photo: Brian Dorsey Studios2/24Our wedding bands were designed by the master craftsmen at McTeigue McClelland, who incorporated little details to make the rings feel very personal. Mine was done in bloomed yellow gold, with an engraved vine encircling the band. Michael’s is a matte platinum band with yellow gold lining it.
Photo: Brian Dorsey Studios3/24I was extraordinarily lucky to wear a Valentino gown that perfectly fit my aesthetic. I knew the silhouette of my dress would be pretty simple, as I am not a ball gown kind of girl; that being said, I am a sucker for detail, so I wanted something with rich texture. The beaded pearls ended up making the dress so heavy that it couldn’t be hung, so it was draped across the couch in various positions all weekend. I designed the veil with Homa, as I wanted a traditional mantilla and they have been making them for decades. The lace was sourced from a mill built in 1865 in Caudry, France.

Photo: Brian Dorsey Studios5/24With a dress that covered my neck and arms, earrings were the only type of jewelry I had the option of wearing, so I wanted to make them count. I wore my mother’s Buccellati pearl drops with gold and diamond leaf designs, complementing the petals on the setting of my McTeigue McClelland engagement ring. The antique diamond hair comb was passed down from my grandmother to my mother.
