Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power Hosted a Rosé-Filled Dinner in East Hampton

On a Saturday night in late July, glasses of rosé, sauvignon blanc, and pinot noir were flowing in East Hampton, courtesy of the vegan-friendly, organic wine brand Avaline. Co-founders Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power brought their best-sellers out East to celebrate their fourth anniversary, and friends and wine enthusiasts couldn’t have been more excited.
In 2020, Diaz and Power founded Avaline in an effort to make organic wine more accessible without sacrificing taste or sustainability. “We are wine lovers and consumers, and one day we just thought ‘what is in [a bottle of wine?]’” Diaz tells Vogue. This thought is what sparked the idea to develop their brand, and now with four years behind them, they wanted to make their presence known out East. They can be found popping up at some local favorites, such as DÔEN, Jenni Kayne, J.Crew, and Staud, as well as Le Bilboquet, Moby’s, and Montauk Beach House for regulars to enjoy.
To kick off the celebrations earlier in the evening, Diaz and Power were found behind the bar at the town’s happy hour hotspot, Sí Sí Mediterranean Restaurant, pouring their rosé and white blend for guests. It wasn’t long before the rosé was already thoroughly enjoyed–because who couldn’t resist a crisp glass in the Hamptons? They popped their sparkling wine and said their goodbyes before heading off to host a private dinner for close friends at a nearby residence.
Upon entering the backyard, it was quite clear just how chic the night would be; the space was decked out with floral arrangements, hanging lights, live music, and even a fountain filled with bottles of Avaline’s sparkling white wine. Before the main dinner, guests were treated to an array of hors d’oeuvres and drinks–including their specialty cocktail, the Avaline Hamptons Spritz (which was just as refreshing as it sounds). Friends of Diaz and Power, such as Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rachel Zoe, and Rebecca Minkoff, spent some time catching up and drinking wine ahead of the remaining celebrations of the night.
The four-course dinner was any seafood lover’s dream, starting with scallops and vegetables and topping off with surf and turf. For dessert? Key lime pie–which is exactly what was needed to close out a warm summer night.
