Bella Hadid Celebrates Her Kin Cofounder Role With a Little Help From Her Famous Friends

“It’s bananas,” said Jen Batchelor, CEO and cofounder of Kin. She was talking about the public reaction to the recent announcement that supermodel Bella Hadid was the adaptogenic brand’s new cofounder. But she also could have been talking about the raucous crowd that, at that very moment, stood packed outside Spring Place clambering to get into Kin’s NYFW party celebrating her appointment.
With a guest list this buzzy, it makes sense they’d want to be inside. Hadid was there, along with her mother, Yolanda, and sister Gigi. Imaan Hammam, Helena Christensen, and Lori Harvey all stopped by to say hello, as did Taraji P. Henson. Other famous faces in the crowd? Artist Daniel Arsham, Halsey, Europhia actor Barbie Ferriera, as well as rapper Kid Cudi.
Guest of honor Hadid was dressed to impress, wearing a black mini dress made with recycled materials by Daisy. Despite being surrounded by a constant, ever-flowing crowd of well-wishers the entire night, the model did take time to reflect on her official first week on the job: “It’s been surreal,” she told Vogue. “I’m so lucky that I get to be creative every single day.”
Cans of Kin Spritzes and Lightwaves were aplenty, and guests lined up at the bar to order Open Your Hearts, an alcoholic cocktail with beet juice. All throughout DJ Kerwin Frost blasted music for partygoers, who stayed on the dance floor late into the night. The room was adorned in a bountiful flower installation by Fleurotica, curated by Hadid herself.
Batchelor wasn’t surprised their party drew such a crowd: in addition to Hadid’s star power, Kin’s developed a cult following among the past three years due to its euphoric and de-stressing qualities. “Whoever sees themselves in this, they’re going to come to us,” she said.
