Think Pink! A Look Back at Vogue Brides Who Wore Pink on Their Wedding Day
Think wearing pink to your wedding day is a radical choice? Think again. There’s a long list of notable brides who donned the rosy hue to say I do. Even royals have eschewed traditional white for the color—in 1935, Lady Alice Christabel Montagu Douglas Scott wore a pale pink Norman Hartnell gown to her wedding, at which the future Queen Elizabeth II was a bridesmaid. And in more recent history, Beatrice Borromeo wore a gossamer mauvy-pink Valentino couture gown to her civil ceremony to wed Monaco’s Prince Pierre Casiraghi in 2015. Talk about a royal stamp of approval.
Over in Hollywood, meanwhile, pink has long been a stylish bride’s color of choice: See the pale Valentino gown Anne Hathaway wore to her very private wedding in 2012. That same year, Jessica Biel chose a floral pink Giambattista Valli dress to marry Justin Timberlake in Puglia, Italy. And who could forget Gwen Stefani’s custom dip-dyed Pepto Bismol pink John Galliano gown worn to marry her first husband, Gavin Rossdale, in 2002?
Over in the Vogue Weddings archive, plenty of brides have chosen the romantic color to exchange vows or to their rehearsal dinners. Below, find a selection of some of our favorite brides who wore pink.
