You Get a Brunello Cucinelli! Oprah and More A-Listers Join the Italian House for Luxe Dinner

On Thursday night, a procession of Hollywood s most elite members sauntered up the brick driveway—covered in a beige color carpet—of the Chateau Marmont and were transported to the luxurious world of iconic designer Brunello Cucinelli. From Oprah Winfrey and Kevin Costner to Sharon Stone and Jon Hamm, the starry guests arrived at the famed Los Angeles hotel to the sights of the Italian fashion house s beautiful new eveningwear collection meticulously on display, the whimsical sounds from the popular Italian song "L appuntamento" by Ornella Vanoni and the aroma of delicate ebony and teak wood notes from the brand s signature candle. At the end of the carpet stood Cucinelli waiting to welcome his guests with a double kiss on the cheek.
Cucinelli, the creative force behind his eponymous company, along with his daughters Carolina Cucinelli, the vice president and co-creative director, and Camilla Cucinelli, vice president and co-head women s creative director, hosted a dinner party to celebrate the brand s latest collection called "Midnight Silence." The new looks consist of the fashion house s high-quality, elegant, and classic double-breasted menswear suits with large peak lapels and dazzling light sequin embroidery dresses.
"We were thinking about Hollywood when we designed this collection. We tried to cross the essence of Brunello Cucinelli mixed and matched with the identity of old Hollywood," Carolina told Vogue. “Every single piece is precious and we like the idea of wearing the clothes in a different way, but for a long time.”
Costner was among the first elegantly dressed partygoers to arrive at the lively party, wearing, of course, a Brunello Cucinelli deconstructed blazer and matching trousers. When Cucinelli greeted Costner, the designer kissed him on both cheeks and made some adjustments to his necktie before posing for photos together. Costner smiled and gladly accepted the touch-up.
Inside the Chateau Marmont s rustic lounge, servers stood in an organized line and handed out endless negronis and glasses of Aperol Spritz for guests to indulge in un aperitivo. Chris Pine, clad in a Brunello Cucinelli silk jacket with a shawl lapel and silk trousers, mingled with some acquaintances. Across the room, Law Roach had a quick chat with Carolina while veteran stylist Jeanne Yang spoke with Casey Affleck. Near the bar, stylist Warren Alfie Baker met up with Nicholas Alexander Chavez from Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
Winfrey arrived in a Brunello Cucinelli silk skirt with beautiful feather embroidery, a poplin top, mohair blazer and a silk tie with feathers that matched her skirt. She sat in the dimly lit outdoor patio and caught up with her A Wrinkle in Time director Ava Duvernay. The two shared a long conversation.
Cucinelli kicked off the dinner with an inspiring toast. He dedicated the evening to the human soul. "I ve always believed that you need to tidy up your soul on a daily basis and as we come close to the end of the year, we tend to take stock of what we have been doing the past 12 months. I would like us to really stop and think about this," Cucinelli said through a translator. "… We should really pledge to better mankind and we need to once again go in believing great ideals, good politics, good family, and good spirituality. May the heavens protect and enlighten us."
Stone sat next to Cucinelli and the two shared laughs for the entire evening. "He s a wonderful human being and the goodness of his soul that he mentioned tonight is reflected in the quality of his work," said Stone, wearing a Brunello Cucinelli black virgin wool blazer and trousers with feather embroidery.
Across from Stone and Cucinelli sat Hamm, looking dapper in a Brunello Cucinelli wool-silk chalk stripe suit. The Emmy-winning actor has been a fan of the brand since the early 2000s. "I love the fact that his palette is so beautiful and the fabrics are so soft and elegant—yet structured and put together. And he makes beautiful silhouettes for both men and women," said Hamm, who was accompanied by his wife Anna Osceola and dressed in a stunning white Brunello Cucinelli suit. "I just love the whole vibe. It s become a go-to-look for me as I ve gotten older."
As the dessert—tiramisu—was served, the partygoers like Kaitlyn Dever and Sofia Boutella started to trickle out. Quinta Brunson gave Shonda Rhimes a hug as she left, and Winfrey waved goodbye to all her friends. As guests departed Cucinelli and his family stood by the patio door to personally say "ciao" to each guest and gave them a double kiss on the cheek as they left.
"I was just with Carolina and Camilla and I love that the family has such incredible intentions in terms of luxury and fashion," said Emily in Paris star Ashley Park, who wore a Brunello Cucinelli layered feather skirt and denim effect couture blazer. "They have such quality and beauty in everything that they do. Everything that I have worn of theirs is so comfortable, but so sophisticated. I also just like the brand because I love the family so much."
Not only does Park appreciate the family s kindness, but she is grateful for learning new fashion styles from them. "I just learned the term greige. It s grey and beige," Park said of the color palette that reflects a classic element that will never go out of style. "And greige is like what I want my entire life to be like!"
