Bella Hadid, Jacob Elordi, and More Joined Burberry for a Moonlit Dinner Experience 

Fans of Burberry and Riccardo Tisci will recall that the house’s Spring 2022 women’s collection made its debut digitally last season. A pop-up-style takeover at its flagship store location on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, however, saw the presentation come to life, with an immersive installment directly inspired by the multi-themed runway. The brand celebrated accordingly, with a private dinner atop the penthouse terrace of its store, bringing VIP guests and friends of the brand along to experience the reimagined presentation (dubbed “Animal Instinct” by Tisci) in real life.

The cluster of 30 or so guests trickled in after sunset, met first with the Burberry location’s exterior makeover. “I think it’s the same print from the final dress of the show,” one attendee was heard saying while admiring the spectacle. The store’s outermost walls were now covered in a black, white, and bubblegum pink abstract camouflage motif, indeed a reference to some variation of the prints used in looks 8, 51, and 52 of Burberry’s Spring 2022 collection. Striking as it was, there was more to come. More elements borrowed from the September presentation were the mounds of material that embellished the entry-level floor, covered entirely in silver metallic and illuminated with an impressive arrangement of candles. Next, there was a towering installation of mirrored speakers where each guest made a pit stop for a photo opp. Finally, it was up to the penthouse.

Inside the intimate space, the collection’s presentation film played on a floor-to-ceiling wall, surround sound pulsating throughout. A lone seat occupied the middle, and a couple of viewers at time, already set with cocktails in hand, could pause and allow themselves to be fully engulfed in Tisci’s vision.

A pale pistachio hallway of sorts opened up to the penthouse’s terrace (said to be one of the tallest rooftops terraces on Rodeo Drive), and an all too perfect tablescape awaited under the moonlight, doused in pink roses to complement the building’s temporary exterior. Rounds of wine, spicy margaritas, and veggie-based snacks floated throughout. The small guest list included Bella Hadid, Marina Ruy Barbosa, Jacob Elordi, Lori Harvey, Devon Lee Carlson, Travis Bennett, Camila Morrone, Steve Lacy, and Brent Faiyaz. Finally, dinner, which included cauliflower steak and a citrusy tuna dish topped with grapefruit, was served with a live performance from a cellist. All the while, a nearly obstructed view of the Hollywood Hills as a backdrop to it all. Burberry certainly knows how to close out a week.
