Inside Carolina Herrera’s Post Show Bash in Mexico City

The sun had set at the Museo Anacahualli, the site of Wes Gordon’s latest resort collection which paid homage to Mexico City. No sooner had the models finished their finale walk, and Gordon taken his customary bow on the runway, than the after-party “popped off,” as the youth would say, thanks to DJ Pony, aka Juliana Pachón, who played an expert mix of reggaetón, cumbias, merengue, disco, and pop that kept the dance floor completely packed throughout the night. (It also needs to be said that the music was so good that there was a lot of Shazam-ing going on.)

A mix of people that included models fresh off the runway with their hair and make-up still intact, editors, buyers, and celebrities and models like Meghann Fahy, Caroline Trentini, Yalitza Aparicio, Melissa Barrera, Rebeca Andrade, Antonia Gentry, and Nava Mau, enjoyed cocktails and bites from everyone’s favorite Mexico City restaurant Contramar. By ten o’ clock, after eating far too many little dessert jícara cups filled with tapioca and coconut milk, this reporter bid adieu to the party, but beautiful young people were still arriving ready to make a night of it.
