Daisy Edgar-Jones Celebrated Her Debut Estée Lauder Campaign with a Chic Bash at Chateau Marmont
In a city where 8 p.m. is practically midnight by local standards, Estée Lauder threw caution to the wind on Thursday evening, hosting a lavish celebration at the fabled Chateau Marmont to toast to English actress Daisy Edgar-Jones—the newest global brand ambassador.
To mark the Normal People star’s debut campaign—which will launch globally on February 2—the hotel had been transformed through the lens of a Maison More theme, nodding to the revamped and newly-reimagined Double Wear Foundation’s “made for more” mantra.
Inside, the stylish crowd included longtime brand ambassadors Bianca Brandolini, Carolyn Murphy, Imaan Hammam, Karlie Kloss, Liya Kebede, and Paulina Porizkova, who mingled over Champagne, cocktails, and caviar with Emma Grede, Julianne Hough, and Ilona Maher. The guest list also brought together models Jessica Hart and Elisa Sednaoui, dancer and choreographer Stephen Galloway, stylist Kate Foley, makeup artist Romy Soleimani, Fool Me Once star Michelle Keegan and her husband Mark Wright, and designer Peter Dundas and his partner Ev Bousis.
The beauty enthusiasts in the room were kept busy with plenty of curated photo opportunities throughout the venue: Vintage phone booths, a games room, and personalized foundation color-matching stations (ahead of the official release of the new Double Wear Stay-in-Place around the world on February 2). As for the evening’s guest of honor, clad in a white feathered mini dress by The Attico and white pumps, Edgar-Jones stopped to catch up with fellow English rose Phoebe Dynevor of Bridgerton fame in the lobby between champagne toasts and pausing for endless selfies with guests. “I m entering into my late 20s now and finding a lot more confidence,” she told Vogue of her evolving relationship with beauty. “I used to use makeup to kind of hide or cover up, but now I use it to bring out my inner confidence and better express how I m feeling.
Edgar-Jones’ latest obsession is Lauder’s cult-favorite Advanced Night Repair—the same serum her mom used to apply religiously every evening. “The smell of that feels like becoming a woman to me,” she recalled. “When I bought my first Advanced Night Repair and had it by my bedside, it felt so luxurious.” As for beauty rules she likes to break? “I use eyeliner on my lips—to line them. It’s basically a brown nude liner, but I use the same shade for my eyebrows and my lips. It’s so handy because I don t have to buy two,” she laughed.
“It s so cool being here tonight to celebrate in the most iconic location,” she continued. “I invited so many of my friends—so it feels like a proper celebration.” At 10 p.m., the evening shifted into an even higher gear as the lounge opened and DJs Lou Hayter and Anastazja transformed the celebration into a full-blown dance party. While some danced into the night, others opted to go home and get their beauty sleep—but not before picking up their custom-matched Double Wear Foundation goodie bag on the way out.
