New York’s Chicest Could Be Found at Destree’s Madison Avenue Outpost to Christen the New Store

Just a day after the closing of New York Fashion Week, the city’s style-forward set gathered once more on Thursday to celebrate the opening of Destree’s new flagship on the Upper East Side. This marks the brand’s latest expansion after launching previous stores in Paris and Seoul.
Geraldine Guyot and Laetitia Lumbroso, the founders of Destree, seized the buzzworthy occasion to introduce friends of the house to their new 1,300-square-foot sanctuary. The space features their distinctive vision, a catalog of offerings across ready-to-wear and accessories, and the brand’s signature monochrome green palette (that’s “Destree Green” for insiders).
“Opening a flagship store in New York marks a monumental milestone for Destree,” Guyot shared. “With the U.S. being our top market, it was essential to establish a space where our American clients can fully immerse themselves in the Destree experience.”
Guyot, leveraging her background in culture curation and education at Central Saint Martins, hand-picked the vintage furniture that dots the store, using the new space as an opportunity to immerse American visitors in the brand’s DNA while providing an intimate community hub for the exploration of their offerings.
Throughout the evening, notable guests in attendance, including Aerin Lauder, Barbara Sturm, Huma Abedin, Gayle King, Nina Dobrev, and Rashid Johnson, toasted the opening and celebrated the addition of Destree’s location to the family of luxurious flagships on storied Madison Avenue. Industry veterans and innovators, including Gabriela Hearst, Wes Gordon, Lauren Santo Domingo, Derek Blasburg, and Kate Young, were also present for the festivities.
As the evening progressed, guests toasted the new space with light bites and champagne, surrounded by vaunted neighbors including Toteme, Lanvin, and Marni. Anticipation and celebration marked the night, reflecting the excitement surrounding the vision for the space in the context of American style.
