There Was a Pink Chocolate Fountain and Pearl-Encrusted Cakes at Edie Parker’s NYFW Party

Brett Heyman knows how to throw a bash! Edie Parker turned an otherwise gloomy Monday night cheerful at its new flagship on Bond Street. The brand moved to its new downtown location from Madison Avenue last November and chose Fashion Week as the moment to toast its new space and let everyone know it is open for business.

Known for its sense of humor and care-free energy, Edie Parker debuted its new collection, which features the brand’s signature acrylic splashed with unexpected motifs like shrimp and broccoli—because, why not? The new wares were presented alongside eye-catching table-top accessories and pieces from Flower, the brand’s cannabis-oriented collection. Of the new space, Heyman explained she had hoped to present all of her products—lifestyle and fashion–in harmony, like a candy-color Gesamtkunstwerk.

“You see how this woman would entertain with our stuff, what she’s wearing out at night, what she s wearing if she’s at home or bringing a gift to someone. Everything remains playful. The tagline of the brand is for a good time and that’s really what the inspiration is,” she explained.

Singer Lizzy Plapinger quipped in, “I love that she is a New York–based designer because I’m a New York artist and I feel very bound to supporting other New York City–based artists. I like that she is so light, cheeky, and self-aware. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and is so playful.” Model Delilah Hamlin agreed, noting the colorful clutches are her Fashion Week go-to.

And with all the love in the room, it was as though Valentine’s Day came early. Plus, a bevy of Heyman’s friends and industry insiders including Huma Abedin, Vanessa Traina, and Wes Gordon were served Recess CBD water by strapping, shirtless cupids. The boutique teemed with whimsy, right down to the luscious cakes from the Gemini Bake that were iced with designs to match the EP baubles. Guests ogled over the pink-colored chocolate fondue fountain (by Flair Chocolatier) as they dipped in their custom Flower-branded marshmallows. For a couple of hours, everyone got to be kids in a candy store.
