This season, pleating isn’t just for the prim and proper, and it’s not just for skirts! While you can still expect a handful of pleasantly pleated midis and minis in faux leathers and checks, we’re equally keen on the creased technique on dresses, mixed into trousers, and worked onto outerwear. It’s nice to see accordion folds on garments in a variety of breezy, move-with-you styles that’ll offer a sense of that elegant ease many of us have adopted since the pandemic. Despite their polish, pleats allow for a fashionable fluidity, and ultimately, they offer dressed-up comfort.
